How to remove "Your system is infected?
This came on the back of my pc and below it warns me of spyware activity. It appears that something malicious, and it stopped my internet access. How do I remove it?
This warning is the virus / malware is warned against. Closes browser, turn off the computer all the way, then start again. If you still see this warning, you're infected … You can run antivirus and antispyware but sad reality is that if you have found a virus on your computer, you probably several years. Cleaning the computer now requires you to follow these steps because viruses and spyware entrench themselves in the modern file that your computer needs to run: 1. Virus-check your data files (no files in the application – you have the CD facility for those). 2. Make backup copies of data files, making your hard drive. 3. Get the original operating system CD that came with your computer. 4. Start the computer from the operating system CD. 5. Select the option that erases your hard drive and reinstall the system software. 6. Turn on the firewall software included with your system operational. 7. Reconnect to the Internet and download * all * Windows updates, no matter how long it takes. 8. Reinstall your application software, and update applications as much as possible. 9. Reinstall your data files. 10. Create a limited user account on your system that does * not * even administrator access and navigate the site for this account. Yes, it's a pain in the ass. No, there is no other way. No, antivirus and antispyware programs can not solve this problem alone. So what do in the future? 1. Never click on links that you find in an e-mail. 2. Never open an email attachment, ever. 3. Only download files from a site confidence that you know is in the back-and-up. 4. Never use Bit-Torrent and other file sharing programs. 5. Never use a floppy site control unsolicited. 6. Turn off all Java and Java Script by default and only allow Java and scripting for sites that you know you can trust. 7. Never read unsolicited email, and delete emails immediately. You may be hacked by reading an e-mail only.
